How to connect Apple TV to VPN

First you will need a VPN account with Liberty VPN and you are half way there. The issue with Apple TV is that it does not have a VPN client build in. So the connection to the VPN needs to be done outside the Apple TV. How it’s done? Simply by sharing a VPN connection from a device that is already connected to a VPN. There are 3 options you can use:

1) Share a VPN Connection in Windows:
  - Locate connection menu item and right-click on the VPN connection you have setup.
  - Select ‘Properties’ and a new window will open.
  - Then select the ‘Sharing’ tab and check of “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection”.
  - Below select the network connection you will be sharing to and click ‘OK’.

It is important to understand that you cannot share to the same connection you use to connect to the Internet with. For example, connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi, share the VPN connection to the Ethernet connection and then connect my Apple TV to the Ethernet port. You might have two Ethernet ports or perhaps connect to the Internet via a USB dongle. Whatever your setup is, just remember to share to a network connection you are not already using.

2) Share a VPN Connection in Mac OS:
  - Open ‘System Preference’s and look for ‘Sharing’.
  - Enable ‘Internet Sharing’ and where it says “Share your connection from” select the VPN connection you have setup.
  - Where it says ‘To computers using’ select the appropriate interface (please read below).
If you will be using Wi-Fi you might want to click ‘Wi-Fi options’ and set a password.

3) Share a VPN Connection from a Router:

You will need to a DD-WRT router to act as a second router. In most cases you would connect your current router modem to the WAN port of the VPN router and configure it to dial the connection. Then connect your PC or consoles to the second router.

  4. Yes, I share to a network connection that I'm not using already. When it comes to wi-fi, my vpn connection was always shared to an ethernet. However, things have become much easier and secured with one of the best vpn service providers that I've come across.can try it.
